Under the Tuscan Sun - Florence & The Mall (Day 1)

Florence, oh what a beautiful place.

Due to point booking unavailability, we had a very complex routing to Florence. On top of that, there were heart stopping moments.

SFO-LHR-FRA-FLR

We flew from San Francisco to London Heathrow during the 7:35 p.m. flight. London Heathrow was not a good airport to layover. There were many security annoyances that differs from the U.S. This resulted in having to take out all liquids and repacking it into one small plastic bag a person.

Being that it is winter, our flight from London to Frankfurt got delayed by 45 min. This was fine because the Frankfurt to Florence was also delayed.

We made it to Florence at 10:30 PM at night, and somehow was able to get on the bus to the Santa Maria Novella station by 11:30 PM.

That was the most hectic travel experiences I've ever had, until the return trip to the US, which was even MORE hectic!!! Oy, I will try to avoid long segment routings during the holidays.

We had a lovely four days in Tuscany.

FLORENCE....it's a beautiful place, with lots of history, art, food, and SHOPPING!!! We spent Day 1 and Day 3 in Florence.

Day 1:
We started our first day in Florence shopping at The Mall, literally called "The Mall", in Leccio Regello. The SITA bus took us from the Santa Maria Novella station and dropped us off at The Mall. That took us the whole day, but it was VERY productive.  We even got the VAT tax refund at tax refund office in The Mall.

Can't stop by Salvatore Ferragamo's home town without stopping by Salvatore Ferragamo!

Our first Italian meal - Pizza!
