Second Day In Milan - The Last Supper and Top of the Duomo (Day 5)

Last day in Italy!

Today we saw the other famous painting by Leonardo Da Vinci, "The Last Supper". This painting represented Da Vinci's view of what happened before Judas betrayed Jesus. It was a LOT bigger than the Mona Lisa, which we saw in Paris at the Louvre. The Last Supper was painted on a whole wall.

Two months before our trip, I freaked out because I wasn't able to secure tickets to the Last Supper, as the site was in Italian and I couldn't read it. So, I ended up contacting the concierge at the Park Hyatt Milan, and they bought the tickets for us! What a nice hotel. With that story, we were sad to leave.

Today, we also went on top of the Duomo, or as far up as we could go. There were ice on top, so they won'tn let us up. Anyhow, the Cathedral is such a beautiful building with a Gothic feel. I highly recommend people going up there just to admire the architecture.

Another church - this one outside of the building where the Last Supper was held

They do not let us take a picture with the original Last Supper painting. This is a copy before we walked out

So dramatic

Bye Bye Park Hyatt Milan - you were good to us
