An American girl in Paris - Day 8

Two more days til the end of our lovely trip.  Paris, you will definitely be missed!!!!

The day started off with a walk through the gardens of luxembourg.  It was a cold morning, and we were not in the mood to take pictures.  Also, compared to the Gardens of Varsaille, this place does not compare!  Instead of staying for the whole time allotted, we walked over to Patrick Rogers.  This place has consistently been rated as having one of the top chocolates in Paris.

I give you, the chocolate monkey from Patrick Rogers

The day continued with more chocolate tastings and foie gras searching.  We wanted to bring only the BEST home to the US.  Our suitcase was very limited.

Some chocolates we tasted were from:

Pierre Marcolini
La Maison Du Chocolat
Pierre Herme
Laduree
Leonidas
Patrick Rogers
Jean-Paul Hevin

We later ventured towards the other side of the river, and went to Les Halles to see the more retro side of Paris.  This place reminds me of the Haight-Ashbury in SF, except not as liberal.  There were full of tourists, and I found a McDonalds that serves macaroons!  Macaroons is EVERYWHERE in this city.

Rue de Montorgeuil - it is definitely an interesting street, but it's not to my preference.  There were a lot of Italian shops which was nice for a change.  We did not feel the atmosphere, so we walked back to our hotel to rest up.

Our hotel room was considered "large" for Paris standards.  I guess I can agree.  It's a lovely room, and so sad to leave it behind.

That night, we dined at an Italian restaurant.  That was one of the biggest pizza I've ever seen served as a single entree.  Or rather, "plat".  In French, "entree" means appetizer, and "plat" means entree!

I was feeling especially Parisian that night with the scarf I got from a local store.

The BEST pasta aside from mom's kitchen.  YUM!!!!
