Day 6 -
OOTD - it's supposed to be 22 degrees celcius, which felt like 85 degrees fahrenheit to me!
We started off the day with shopping at Primtemps, followed up by Galeries Lafayette. The hotel gave us 10% coupon for both shopping malls. However, after a day at La Vallee Village, we can't justify purchasing anything. I should've taken a picture of the Asians standing in line to the LV and Chanel sections! Those Asians and their designers...(as I look in the mirror).
Guess what we found at Galeries Lafayette - FOIE GRAS!!!! The forbidden fruit of California. Now, let's see if there is a way to bring some of these home
The French LOVES their Nutella
After a very unsuccessful trip to Primtemps and Lafayette, we ate a late lunch at 3 p.m. It was a very lovely day, and we opted to sit outside. Boy do the French smoke a LOT. We tried to breath in the opposite direction as the guy at the table next to us were puffing a cigarette. It was a relief when he finished, only to have the girl started puffing! It was unbearable and we had to move tables. I respect their culture, I just can't handle the smell of second hand smoke.
One of the biggest weiner I ever ate.
After our heavy heavy lunch, we went back to the room to take a nap and research on the best way to get our foie gras pass US customs. Seems like canned is the way to go! We then opted to walk to the Champ Elysee for dinner, as we were getting fat from all the foods. Unfortunately, as we walked, I made us stop at Monoprix to splurge on some yummy Madeleines! It got me wondering if these Madeleines are any better than Twinkies...hm....
We finally made it to the Arc de Triomphe! Had to change clothes too, as it was way too warm!
Dinner was at La Maison de l'Aubrac! It was the BEST steak frites I've ever eaten. The servers were all so nice and helpful. Seriously, meat lovers have to try this place!
