Thailand: Chiang Mai Part III

Day 3 consisted of visiting old Chiang Mai during day time, walking around, and getting a $6.00 thai massage. We later came back and enjoyed the resorts' pool, which is breathtaking!

I didn't realize there are so many expats living in Chiang Mai. When we left the touristy areas, I was able to see what life is really like. It's still an Asian country, one with no sidewalks, but there are many little cute coffee shops that offers wifi. This made a great environment to work, as proven by Graph Cafe. People sip coffee and work on their macbooks there. It did not feel like I was in Chiang Mai, but SF!

Louise shared that people retire in Chiang Mai because the cost of living is lower than the US. This would explain why I saw so many cute old couples walking around. Chiang Mai is an interesting city, and I'm glad Louise and Jeremy were there to show me around, or else I wouldn't know this other side existed.

There is really nothing much else to say, so I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Started the day with some good coffee. Graph Cafe

I always wanted to take a picture from behind a gridded window. At Graph Cafe

Trying to be artistic at Graph Cafe. Cold nitrogen coffee.

Louise walking through old Chiang Mai. This is an awesome filter!

A smoothie truck in front of some grafitti. Something about it is very pretty.

A temple we didn't visit. I took this picture from across the street.

The moat we walked by so often. It squares off and separates old Chiang Mai from the rest.

We later spent the whole afternoon at 137 Pillars House. The pool was super nice. Louise got some work done and I got a Singapore Sling.
