Miraval - Sibling Bonding and Detox

WHAT A WEEKEND!!! This place was exactly what I needed after busy season and the start of something new.

Miraval is an all inclusive wellness retreat. The resort offered countless activities, classes, and treatments. It is by no means an economical trip, but it was definitely worth it. It's something I would consider doing on an annual basis.

Day 1 - Arrival. We arrived at Tucson Airport around 10:30 am, and was whisked away for an hour ride. When we reached the resort, all I noticed was how tranquil and beautiful it is. Since our room wasn't ready, we had lunch, which was beyond healthy (and it felt good). We then toured the resort.

I asked the person giving us the tour if people return often, and she said, "yes". She even shared that there were outliers who stay a month at a time. My brother jokingly commented along the lines of, "What do you do, sir, that you need to go to Miraval for a month at a time!".

After the tour, I quickly freshened up and went to the gym for my biometrics appointment. It's one of those where you run on the treadmill and they measure your vitals. It was totally worth it, as I know what I should focus on for my workouts now.

Anyhow, here are some pictures of the first day.

Side note: United was the ONLY airline that flies direct from SFO to TUC, and they know it. Tickets are astronomical for such a short flight. $300 RT! goodness gracious! But it was totally worth it.

The lap pool with the mountain backdrop. Gorgeous!

Day 2 - I woke up bright and early in one of the most comfortable hotel beds EVER! I mean EVER! It was soft and fluffy, and felt like a cloud. My brother and I looked into the cost of the bedding...$4000+. EEK! I'll stick w/ what I have.

After breakfast, I went to my swing and a prayer appointment. Swing and a prayer is when they lift you 40 feet up and you let go and swing down. Totally worth it! LOVED IT! I let go and went beyond my boundaries.

Here are some pictures of the second day.

Nice fountain on our way to breakfast.

Day 3 - woke up and just relaxed at the resort. We spent about 2 hours at this pool, just reading.

Ride back

All in all, I got exactly what I came for this past weekend. If it's possible, I would recommend going to Miraval. I know it's not in the bucket list for everyone, but it did me some good. So, I'm planning my next trip back.
