Winter in Tokyo

We returned to Tokyo to end our 2016. What a unique and fun city! This time around, it was more fun than the last time!

The first time we were in Tokyo, we spent most of the time sight seeing. This second time around, we spent it eating, eating, and more eating! Thus, we didn't take many pictures as it would all be of food. However, to document, here are some of the places we ate at, and particularly enjoyed.

Warayakia - This Roppongi local Izakaya has bbq on straw! It gives the bbq a unique and delicious flavor.

Ramen Street - Ramen Street is located in the Tokyo Station, and there are about eight different Ramen shops. We chose one, and really enjoyed it. We liked the traditional ramen more than Fu-unji, which was supposed to be the best Tsukemen (dipping noodles style ramen).

Madoi/Madoy - this Wagyu place is similar to Miyaji's from our last trip. Sadly, Miyaji's was all booked, so we went to Madoi/Madoy. Madoi did not disappoint. It is located in Ginza, and is upstairs of a waffle shop. Totally awesome wagyu beef. We didn't have the Miyazaki wagyu, but it's okay. Highly recommend!

Andy's Seafood - a local Izakaya / sushi place owned by a British guy? Yup yup! This is an awesome and affordable place. There is a lot of Soju and Sake to go with your sushi. We particularly enjoyed the sashimi

Yhougan-yaki Satsuma-yashop - MY FAVORITE MEAL! I can't even pronounce it correctly, but it's a yakiniku restaurant. We ordered the wagyu and cooked it ourselves. My goodness this is so mouth watering tasty! It must be authentic as they didn't speak english, and we had to communicate through gestures. If anyone wants some wagyu yakiniku, or just yakiniku in general, go here!!!

Uogashi Nihon-Ichi - I must not be sophisticated with sushi enough, but I like this standing sushi bar. This is a chain, but it's a good experience. I would probably come back here for some fast in and out sushi. Consistency might be an issue, but it's affordable and fresh Nigiri.
