Day 3 consisted of us walking around 5th Avenue, eating, and getting the last massage. The massages in Playa were the BEST. I think Mexico combined with my Asia trip, I've gotten about nine massages in total, and Playa was my favorite! How good was it? Here is a convo between Jianing, Holly and I:
Jianing: should we go to Cancun for half a day or get another massage
Me and Holly: MASSAGE!!!
Side thought:
Visiting Vietnam, Thailand, and Mexico reinforced my appreciation for the US. We all live like kings and queens here. I was fortunate to have extremely nice accommodations during my two weeks of self discovery. There was always a clean and working toilet, purified drinking water, plush surroundings, and service service service!
Basically, I lived like a queen for two weeks, and was embedded in the touristy areas. These accommodations and locations are the country's best put forward. Still, the poverty was apparent. There is definitely a big divide between the rich and the poor. In the end, I was so glad to come home. I much prefer to live like the commoner that I am here, than to be a queen there.
However, I would not turn down another vacation to Playa. That would be awesome!
Great food! Best Ceviche and Fish Tacos. |
